The best of 2009
A slow year for the Joburg economy but the inner city regeneration kept its momentum with charter deliverables by and large keeping to schedule in 2009. Key highlights for the past year include the launch of the City’s bus rapid transit system; urban management remained in the spotlight with regular inner city raids; yet, beauty was not forgotten as the inner city is also filling up with all kinds of art. An inner city tour by executive mayor, Amos Masondo in August showed how things were coming together. |
